How Often Should You Really Get Your Hair Done?

Every six weeks is the rule everyone repeats. The honest answer is that it depends entirely on what you are getting done. Here is how we actually think about it.

01 Root touch-ups and single-process color

Hair grows about half an inch a month, so solid root color usually starts to show at the four to six week mark. If you cover gray or wear an all-over shade, every four to six weeks keeps that regrowth line invisible.

02 Balayage and lived-in blonde

The whole point of balayage is that it grows out softly, with no harsh line, which buys you time. Most of our blonding clients come in every three to four months for the lightening, with a quick gloss or toner around the six to eight week point to knock out brass and bring the shine back. That gloss is the secret to looking freshly done without booking a full session.

03 Haircuts

To hold your shape, every six to eight weeks. If you are growing your hair out, you can stretch to ten or twelve weeks and simply keep the ends healthy in between.

04 Hand-tied extensions

Your natural hair keeps growing underneath, so the wefts need a move-up roughly every six to eight weeks to stay comfortable, secure, and seamless.

The right schedule is built around your hair and your service, not a number you read somewhere.

At your first visit we will map out a cadence that fits your hair, your goals, and your life, so you are never guessing, and never booking more often than you actually need.

Let us build your perfect schedule.
