Hand-tied extensions can add length, fullness, or both, and when they are done well, no one can tell they are there. But they are not one-size-fits-all. Here are the five things we look at to know if you are ready.
01 You have enough hair to hide the rows
Hand-tied wefts are sewn onto a row of your own hair, so we need a band of hair to conceal them. Most people have plenty. If you have very fine or sparse areas, we may suggest a different method or a custom approach, which is exactly what a consultation is for.
02 Your hair and scalp are healthy
Extensions add a little weight. Hair that is mid-breakage, or a scalp that is irritated, needs some care first. Sometimes the best first step is a few weeks of bond-building and conditioning treatments before we install, so your natural hair stays happy underneath.
03 You are up for the upkeep
Extensions are easy to live with, but they are not no-maintenance. Plan on a move-up every six to eight weeks, gentle brushing with the right brush, and loosely tying or braiding your hair before bed. A few small habits keep them looking beautiful far longer.
04 Your goal is realistic
Tell us what you are picturing: more length, more fullness, or a little of both. We color-match and customize every set, and we will always be honest about what will look natural and seamless for your hair type.
05 You are ready to invest
In both care and cost. Extensions are an investment in your time and your routine as much as your look. Pricing depends on the length and fullness you want, so we set it together at your consultation, with no surprises.
The only way to know for sure is to sit down and talk it through.
A consultation is quick and pressure-free, and it is the best way to find out if extensions are right for you. Come in, and we will give you an honest answer either way.
